Cherish House is a maternity home in the Okoboji, Iowa area for teenage mothers.

We are an interdenominational, non-profit corporation formed nine years ago to help young mothers in need.  Besides Cherish House, we also have Mentor Moms, Cherished Women/Cherished Kids (parent training) and other projects to help the needy.

Cherish House is more than a shelter.  Cherish House is a warm, compassionate place where young girls can have a "time away" to sort through her options.  She will have counseling and encouragement as she makes the critical decision between placing for adoption or parenting her baby.  She will learn basic life skills, receive tutoring, encouragement, and love in a family-style home setting where she will also learn about healthy relationships.  Our goal is to help stop the cycle of self-defeat and encourage her to become all that she can be.  This will also have a positive impact on her tiny baby and her future children.
